The Church of Scientology’s weekly food pantry distributed an estimated 400,000 pounds of food to Ventura County residents in 2025.
VENTURA, CA, April 20, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — With food insecurity continuing to impact families across Ventura County—and with skyrocketing fuel and grocery prices making it increasingly difficult for many to make ends meet—the Church of Scientology of Ventura marked a meaningful milestone this month: the third anniversary of its weekly community food pantry, an initiative that has grown into one of the county’s largest and most consistent sources of food assistance.
Driven by the belief that “Something Can Be Done About It,” Scientology Volunteer Ministers, alongside community partners, have created a reliable lifeline for local residents. As the cost of living rises, many families are forced to make difficult choices—sometimes deciding between putting food on the table or gas in the car. In response to this growing need, the pantry continues to serve as a critical source of support.
In 2025 alone, approximately 400,000 pounds of food—valued at an estimated $1.2 million—were distributed to individuals and families in need throughout Ventura County.
The weekly food pantry, held every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 2151 Alessandro Drive in Ventura, has become a cornerstone of support for those experiencing food insecurity.
The program is powered by dedicated volunteers and strengthened through partnerships with Food Share of Ventura County and Local Love Project Ventura, whose collaboration has expanded the reach and impact of the initiative.
“Our mission has always been to serve and uplift our community,” said a representative of the Church of Scientology of Ventura. “Reaching this third anniversary is a testament to what can be accomplished when people come together with purpose and compassion.”
As economic challenges persist, the need for accessible, consistent food resources remains critical. The pantry not only provides nourishment but also fosters a sense of community, dignity, and hope for those it serves.
Looking ahead to 2026, the Church of Scientology and its Volunteer Ministers remain committed to continuing their efforts, expanding outreach, and supporting Ventura County families in need.
