Average San Diego County Gas Price Rises Slightly

The average price is 1.9 cents more than one week ago, but seven- tenths of a cent less than one month ago and 71.9 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.737 since rising to a record $6.435 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped 1.2 cents to $3.296, a day after dropping nine-tenths of a cent. It was the 21st decrease in the past 22 days.
It is 5.4 cents less than one week ago, 16.6 cents less than one month ago and 50.7 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.72 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“Oil Price Information Service reports that some unplanned refinery flaring and refiner purchases of fuel on the wholesale market put some upward pressure on pump prices,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
“In the last day or two, however, some metro areas saw prices drop slightly, so it remains to be seen which way prices will head in the next week.”
