SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A beloved eatery in the Golden Hill neighborhood of San Diego announced it has reopened after the completion of a remodel.
In an Instagram post, Counterpoint said it was hosting a "going away party" on Saturday, Feb. 10. The restaurant recently reopened its doors on April 22.
"Perspective is a funny thing, I think. Over the years, opening, carting patio furniture out, became sort of a drudgery. A little bit mind numbing. Something to be avoided," said owner Cam Fomby in an Instagram post on Counterpoint's account last Thursday.
He continued, "Beyond the work, there exists a tangible sense of possibility. Who’s going to come in tonight, who are we about to meet we never have before?...From that sense of possibility alone, it’s a beautiful hour, and one not to be missed."
Counterpoint, which opened in 2009, has been known for its blue chairs, friendly service and cozy atmosphere. After the remodel, the restaurant has chosen to keep many of the original features that locals know and appreciate, but has expanded its bar, updated its flooring and installed new booths.
Aside from brews, wine and spirits, its menu includes tavern bites like al pastor tacos and fried cheese curds as well as dinner and brunch offerings ranging from cheeseburgers and sandwiches to salads and omelets. The restaurant is located at 830 25th St.
