Make-A-Wish teen spends day with Padres
A 13-year-old boy got the surprise of a lifetime Thursday at Petco Park.
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A 13-year-old boy got the surprise of a lifetime Thursday at Petco Park.
Tyson, with Make-A-Wish San Diego, spent the day with the Padres organization.
He received a personalized Padres jersey, took a picture with the team's mascot Swingin' Friar and watched batting practice.
During batting practice, Tyson met Padres manager Mike Shildt, outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. and other members of the team.
Tyson then stopped by the broadcast booths at the Jerry Coleman Broadcast Center.
To cap off the day, Tyson got to deliver the night's first pitch, help out with the lineup card and watch the game from the owner's box.
Although the Padres lost Thursday's game against the Detroit Tigers, it was a win for Tyson and his family.
