SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A man killed in a hit-and-run crash last month in Balboa Park was identified, authorities said.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office named Darren Stevenson, 54, as the victim in the April 3 collision at the intersection of B St. and Pershing Drive.

Around 8:15 p.m., Stevenson and a woman were walking west in the westbound bicycle lane of Pershing Drive at B St. when an unidentified driver traveling west in the westbound lane of Pershing Drive reportedly drifted into the bicycle lane and struck Stevenson, according to the San Diego Police Department. The driver left the scene after the crash.

The victim was taken to a hospital with a collapsed lung, skull fracture, laceration to his lower lip, among other injuries, police said. Stevenson's condition did not improve and later died on April 28.
