San Diego traffic: Northbound SR-163 to close from I-5 to I-8
The closure will be in effect Saturday from 3 a.m. to noon for crews to pick up litter, trim trees, remove overgrown brush and repair damage to the road, Caltrans said.
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- All lanes of northbound State Route 163 from Interstate 5 to Interstate 8 will be closed this weekend, Caltrans announced Thursday.
The closure will be in effect Saturday from 3 a.m. to noon for crews to pick up litter, trim trees, remove overgrown brush and repair damage to the road, Caltrans said.
Affected areas include the southbound and northbound I-5 ramps to northbound SR-163 as well as the 11th Avenue on-ramp to the highway.
Detours will be put in place to direct drivers on northbound I-5 to the eastbound I-8 ramp where they will continue to the SR-163 connector ramps. Drivers looking to travel southbound on I-5 will be directed to the Imperial Avenue off-ramp and then the northbound I-5 on-ramp where they will need to follow the detour.
Meanwhile, drivers coming from downtown San Diego will be detoured from 11th Avenue to the northbound I-5 on-ramp.
