SDSU defeats Yale in second round of NCAA Tournament
San Diego State University’s men’s basketball team defeated Yale in the second round of the NCAA Tournament Sunday, heading to the Sweet 16 for the second straight season.
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego State University’s men’s basketball team defeated Yale in the second round of the NCAA Tournament Sunday, heading to the Sweet 16 for the second straight season.
The fifth-seeded San Diego State Aztecs defeated the 13-seeded Yale Bulldogs 85 to 57 in Spokane, Washington Sunday night.
Following this win, SDSU is set to take on UConn in the Sweet 16 in Boston on Thursday at 4:39 p.m. The Huskies beat the fifth-seeded San Diego State 76-59 in last year's national championship game.
The top two seeds from each region are now headed to the Sweet 16:
- Clemson vs Arizona -- Thursday at 4:09 p.m. in Los Angeles
- Alabama vs North Carolina -- Thursday at 6:39 p.m. in Los Angeles
- Illinois vs Iowa State -- Thursday at 7:09 p.m. in Boston, MA
- NC State vs Marquette -- Friday at 4:09p.m. in Dallas, TX
- Gonzaga vs Purdue -- Friday at 4:39 p.m. in Detroit, MI
- Duke vs Houston -- Friday at 6:39 p.m. in Dallas, TX
- Creighton vs Tennessee -- Friday at 7:09 p.m. in Detroit, MI
