SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- At the edge of the San Diego Harbor in Barrio Logan, over 100 immigrants have camped out at Cesar Chavez Park for months.
Dozens of young children play on the jungle gym just outside their tents.
This week, Harbor Police, acting on a complaint, have now given warning the encampments will be taken down and migrants waiting for their asylum cases will have to find a new place to call home.
On Wednesday night, roughly half of the immigrants rolled up their belongings and left the waterfront park. Where they will end up is anyone’s guess.
The county was given millions of dollars from FEMA to assist with organizing migrants stuck in limbo, but the county's plan forward is unclear.
