Husband, wife identified in murder-suicide
A shooting that left a husband and wife dead in a Santee home Tuesday has been confirmed as a murder-suicide, authorities said.
SANTEE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A shooting that left a husband and wife dead in a Santee home Tuesday has been confirmed as a murder-suicide, authorities said.
Michael Sheehan, 74, and his wife Beverly Slater-Sheehan, 78, were identified as the people who died, Lt. Michael Krugh with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department said in a news release Wednesday.
On Tuesday morning, authorities responded to a call about two elderly adults dead at a home in the 300 block of Lantern Crest Way.
Autopsies for both Michael and Beverly revealed they died from a gunshot wound.
"The cause of death for Beverly was homicide. The cause of death for Michael was suicide. Michael has been identified as the only suspect in the deaths," Krugh said.
The motive for the crime has not been determined at this time.
