Highest-priced home in La Jolla history sold
La Jolla is known for its lavish and expensive homes.
LA JOLLA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- La Jolla is known for its lavish and expensive homes.
On May 1, real estate agency The Dickinson & Clark Team announced the sale of the $35 million Foxhill Estate, located at 7007 Country Club Drive in the popular coastal community. The property was previously owned by hotel developer Doug Manchester, a former owner of The San Diego Union-Tribune.
"This shatters La Jolla’s all time high record by over $10 million which was our sale of 8466 El Paseo Grande for $24,700,000 in late 2020," realtor Ross Clark said in a post on Instagram.
The Dickinson & Clark Team describes the 22,897 square foot property as the "most prestigious property available in San Diego."
The home features 10 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, panoramic ocean views, more than 30 acres of gated grounds and a 17,000 square foot manor.
On the grounds, there is a pool pavilion, fitness center, greenhouse, eight-car garage with suites, formal orchards and gardens.
About three miles north of the Foxhill Estate, another home in La Jolla at 8466 El Paseo Grande sold for $24.7 million, according to the real estate agency. That sale was the second-highest price in the community's history.
In February, a Spanish estate in Coronado sold for $28 million, becoming the most expensive local single-family property for that month.
