SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Governor Gavin Newsom announced rewards in the thousands of dollars for anyone with information leading to an arrest in four separate unsolved cases across California, two of which were in San Diego.
The announcement Friday came after local law enforcement agencies determined they have exhausted all investigative leads and requested the public's assistance in solving the crimes.
The governor is now offering $50,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case of 22-year-old Gregory Ruffin, who was fatally shot near an apartment complex in San Diego on Feb. 24, 2019, according to the governor's release Friday.
Gov. Newsom is also offering a $50,000 reward in the case of Lamontee Stevenson, a 19-year-old U.S. Navy sailor who was fatally shot at a party in San Diego in August 2019.
Additional rewards of the same amount are being offered for information regarding the fatal stabbing of 61-year-old Alan Schwalbe in Costa Mesa on August 11, 1993, and the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Victoria Barrios in Santa Ana on August 30, 2019.
