Toddler found floating in small pond
A one-and-a-half-year-old was taken to a hospital after being found floating in a small pond Tuesday in Oceanside, authorities said.

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A one-and-a-half-year-old was taken to a hospital after being found floating in a small pond Tuesday in Oceanside, authorities said.
Around 4 p.m., police received a call about the incident in the 2800 block of Benet Road, Heather Mitchell with the Oceanside Police Department said in a news release.
The toddler's mother began screaming when she found the child floating in a small pond on the property and not breathing, according to authorities. Her screams caught the attention of medics at a fire training center nearby.
The toddler was airlifted to a hospital and was alive as of Wednesday morning, police said.
Detectives with the Oceanside Police Department's Family Protection Unit were involved in the investigation as well.
