Watch: Rain, hail falls on parts of San Diego County over the weekend

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- As dry weather moves in this week, San Diego County saw steady rain and even hail over the weekend, while some San Diego mountains had nearly a foot of snow fall.

Aside from the mountains, San Diego valley areas like Santee and Rancho Bernardo received the most rainfall this weekend at just under an inch.

The National Weather Service (NWS) reports a band of heavy showers from Encinitas to Alpine caused pea-sized hail to fall in Rancho Bernardo at 6:15 p.m. Sunday. Did you see hail in your area? Let us know.

San Diego mountains received the most rainfall from this set of storms, between 1 to 2 inches in most areas, while the valley areas saw around an inch of rain, according to NWS.

In Spring Valley, Quarry Road was closed from SR-125 to Lakeview Drive Saturday night due to flooding.

Lake Cuyamaca saw the most rainfall in all of Southern California with 2.75 inches of rain over a 3-day period. View the rainfall totals for Southern California here.

Parts of Los Angeles County also saw hail fall while a flood advisory was in place during the storms Sunday night. The Associated Press reports quarter-sized hail fell in Southern California Sunday.

Video from KTLA shows a 35-year-old woman being rescued after she was swept away in the storm-swollen Los Angeles River Sunday evening.

A high surf advisory is also in effect for San Diego County beaches until noon Monday, with large breaking waves 5 to 8 feet expected.

The rain has moved out of the area and the sun will come back out for the work week staying in the mid to upper 60s during the daytime, then turning rainy again heading into Easter weekend.
