A Point Loma man was jailed Thursday on suspicion of shooting three people at his home, leaving his mother wounded and two other people dead.

William Bushey, 60, reportedly shot the victims shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday at the house he shares with his mother in the 3600 block of Zola Street, a block from Point Loma High School.

Patrol personnel arrived to find the suspect in front of the residence with a shotgun nearby, and took him into custody, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The officers then discovered the victims — Bushey’s mother, who is in her 80s, and a gravely wounded man and woman, believed to be in their 30s and 60s, respectively. The man and woman died at the scene.

The medical examiner’s office is working to identify the deceased victims, SDPD said.

Paramedics took Bushey’s mother to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries. She is reportedly in stable condition and expected to survive her injuries.

Police have released no suspected motive for the shooting and have not disclosed the relationships, if any, among the suspect and the two people who were killed.

Bushey was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder and a charge of attempted murder. He was being held without bail pending arraignment, which is scheduled for Friday afternoon.
