Brush fire near Rancho Santa Fe prompts evacuation warning

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A brush fire near Rancho Santa Fe prompted authorities to issue an evacuation warning Wednesday afternoon.

The 17.1-acre fire broke out on Santa Fe Knolls Lane, near a grassy area with powerlines, Cal Fire San Diego said.

Around 2:35 p.m., the County of San Diego issued an evacuation warning. A temporary evacuation point was set up at 4S Ranch Sports Park at 16118 4S Ranch Parkway.

By 2:50 p.m., crews had stopped forward progress on the fire.

As of 5:28 p.m., the evacuation warning had been lifted.
