According to the National Weather Service, a warmup is expected to begin Monday in Southern California and will continue into the week. Nonetheless, temperatures are anticipated to remain near seasonal averages.
For the coastal areas temperatures may hang around 70 degrees, while the inland areas could feel highs between 71 and 78 degrees, the forecast shows. As for the deserts, highs could reach up to 100 degrees in some areas like Borrego Springs.

Temperatures aside, the marine layer may still be a factor, especially for those honoring Memorial Day along the coast. The weather service said the marine layer is expected to gradually decrease in depth as temperatures rise.
