SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man was stabbed in the forearm at the Iris Avenue Transit Center in Otay Mesa West early Thursday morning, according to San Diego police.

The stabbing occurred around 2:46 a.m. after a dispute. According to SDPD, the victim, identified as a 52-year-old man, had been waiting at the bus stop and trolley platform when a group of men and women who had appeared to be homeless approached.

The group then stated that a duffle bag the victim had belonged to them, police said, leading to the confrontation. During the argument, one of the men in the group stabbed the victim's right forearm. The group then fled the scene.

The 52-year-old was transported to a hospital for treatment. The injury is not considered life threatening at this time.

An investigation into the incident remains ongoing and authorities are working to identify the suspect.

SDPD described the suspect as in his 50s or 60s, and was last seen wearing an unknown colored jersey, pants and a baseball cap. No further details were immediately available.
