Peter Seidler Celebration of Life at Petco Park
Thousands of Padres fans, former players, current players, friends & family members packed Petco Park to celebrate the life and legacy of late Padres Owner & Chairman Peter Seidler.
SAN DIEGO (KUSI/FOX 5) - Thousands of Padres fans, former players, current players, friends & family members packed Petco Park to celebrate the life and legacy of late Padres Owner & Chairman Peter Seidler.
In 2012, Seidler along with Ron Fowler and Peter O'Malley, purchased the Padres from John Moores. Since taking over the reigns of the Swinging Friars, the Padres have spent more money on free agents than ever before, and have operated every season on the mindset of building a ball club capable of winning a World Series. In doing so, Padres fans have flocked to Petco Park in droves, even breaking the previous attendance and sell out records by a wide margin.
On top of being beloved by the Padres fanbase, Seidler was active in numerous charitable organizations, especially in groups to help alleviate the homeless crisis in San Diego.
