San Diego's first cheese wheel pasta bar opens in Little Italy

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- From Aperol spritz towers and cheese wheels, a new Italian restaurant is turning heads in Little Italy.
Located on the corner of India Street and the Piazza della Famiglia, Vincenzo Cucina & Lounge has officially made its debut as the first cheese wheel pasta bar in the city.
Diners can choose from Parmigiano, Gold Parmigiano, Pecorino Sardo, Grana Padano, Bella Vista, or Pecorino Romano Parmigiano-Reggiano that's all hand-picked with varying aging.
While the fresh cheese can be enjoyed in any seat in the house, the restaurant said the wheel pasta bar makes for a unique experience as guests are able to see up-and-personal the chef's working to plate the creamy pasta dishes.
Some dinner menu options includes the Pappardelle Porcini with creamy porcini mushrooms, truffle and Grana Padano, as well as the Bucatini Carbonara with 18-month aged Pecorino Romano. These are just two of several cheese wheel bar choices.
Also on the menu are a variety of pizzas, pastas and antipasti options like the seafood tower, house-made meatballs and bruschetta.
